The number of participants, pass rate, the number of highest GPA achievers and the number of academic institutions with 100 percent success have increased in comparison with last year’s PEC and Ebtedayee examinations. The number of students absent in the examinations and the institutions with no students passing the tests also declined this year. The class eight grade junior school certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) primary education closing (PEC) and equivalent examinations were officially handed over to the Prime Minister. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mostafizur Rahman handed the results to the Prime Minister at a function at Ganobhaban in the morning.
From the same ceremony, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the countrywide textbook distribution program. The class eight grade junior school certificate (JSC) general education boards and one madrasa education board chairman handed over the results of the JSC and JDC examination to the Prime Minister. Education Minister said that 22, 30,829 students of JSC and JDC have passed out of 25, 99,169 examinees and the pass rate is 85.83. Meanwhile, 68,095 students got GPA.

Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has started conducting the Prathomik Shikkha Somaponi examinations from the year 2009 in Bangladesh. When we observe the PEC result stats of the last year i.e., 2017 a total of 30, 88,234 students written the PEC and Ebtedayee exam and out of which 30, 35,250 qualified the exam and the pass percentage was 95.18{ff433b6f8145a97ec1bcbdbf63faa5675e14174bfd0da8202b83de92d997abc5} which is a good overall percentage rate. Especially in Prathomik Shikkha Somaponi examinations 28, 30,734 participated and 27, 88,432 students qualified among them. Whereas in Ebtedayee 2, 57,500 participated and 2, 46,818 students have passed the exam. In Prathomik Shikkha Somaponi Exams, a total of 2, 46,818 students have got the GPA 5.
