Medical Admission Circular 2025–26 in Bangladesh

In 2025, HSC results already published on 16th October. Every October, thousands of students (and their slightly panicked parents) start refreshing the DGHS website. And here’s the thing of the Medical Admission Circular 2025–26 isn’t out yet. But that doesn’t mean we sit around doing nothing. This is the perfect time to get ahead of the herd.
So, grab your notes, maybe a little caffeine, and let’s walk through what’s coming, what’s changing (maybe), and how you can prep like a pro before the circular even lands.
Medical Admission Circular 2025-26
Medical Admission Circular (DGHS) 2025 – 26 will be published very soon. Every year, thousands of students pass the medical admission test with remarkable results. There are some government and non-government medical colleges where thousands of students admit every year.
About 4,500 to 5,000 students are admitted to various medical colleges, including Dhaka Medical College, Rajshahi Medical College, Cumilla Medical College, Chittagong Medical College, and Khulna Medical College, every year. In this article, we will learn about the medical admission circular 2025-26, expected dates, suggestions, marks distribution, and results.
Medical Admission Date 2025–26
Medical Admission Test 2025-26 will be held on 12th December. At a conference, the Ministry of Health announced it on 6th October. The admission test will be held with the same marks distribution as before. According to the Ministry of Health, 5380 students are enrolled at the government medical college and 6293 at the non-government medical college this year.
There are 110 medical colleges in our country. There are two Armed Forces Medical Colleges and five non-government Armed Forces Medical Colleges. Director General (Medical Education) of the Directorate of Education, Rubina Yasmin, decreed the admission date in a conference. So yeah, if you’re reading this in mid-October, you’ve got about a month before things get real.
Eligibility Criteria of MBBS
Don’t let the word “criteria” scare you. It’s just a checklist. Based on last year’s circular:
- SSC & HSC GPA: Minimum combined GPA of 8.5 (8.0 for tribal and non-tribal quota applicants)
- Subject Requirement: You must study physics, chemistry, and biology. Mainly include Biology in both exams, with a GPA of at least 3.5.
- Year Requirements: Students must have passed the SSC in 2022 or 2023 and HSC in 2024 or 2025.
- Second Time Exam: If you are a second-time student, five marks will be deducted. And 7.5 marks will be deducted if you are already admitted to a medical or dental college.
- Foreign Students: Minimum GPA equivalence and application via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They need a minimum GPA of 7.0 with documentation.
If you’re still in HSC, remember your HSC result is the key. DGHS uses it to verify eligibility before you even get the admit card. So yeah, no skipping chemistry classes just yet.
Mark Distribution of Medical Admission Test
Here’s the breakdown of that dreaded 100-mark test:
| Subject | Marks |
| Biology | 30 |
| Chemistry | 25 |
| Physics | 20 |
| English | 15 |
| General Knowledge (Bangladesh + Intl.) | 10 |
- Negative Marking: 0.25 for every wrong answer
- Passing Score: Usually around 40 marks
And here’s a fun start (well, maybe not that fun if you’re nervous):
From 2020–2024, the average cut-off score for government medical colleges hovered around 69–72 marks.
How to Prepare Before Medical Admission?
Waiting for the circular is just an excuse most students use to procrastinate.
Don’t. Do. That.
Here’s what you can start doing now:
- Revise Biology Like It’s Your Religion
It’s half the paper. NCTB + reference books + question banks. Repeat.
- Build Speed with Past Questions
Take one mock every weekend. Use a timer. You’ll thank yourself later.
- Brush Up on English & GK
Those 25 marks can be your secret weapon if science doesn’t go perfectly.
- Get Your Documents Ready
Scan your SSC/HSC transcripts, photos, and other papers early. Because when DGHS opens that portal, it gets slower than BRTC Wi-Fi.

Common Mistake While Applying
Here are the mistakes I’ve seen (and made) over the years:
- Filling the form in a hurry and messing up the district or quota section.
- Waiting until the last day to pay the fee — only to see “server busy.”
- Forgetting to download the admit card (yes, people do that).
- Spending too much time on one subject instead of balancing all four.
The fix? Set mini deadlines for yourself. Act like the circular is already live.
Final Thoughts
Every year, students panic when the circular drops because they wasted the calm before the storm. Don’t be that person. You’ve got a golden window right now to prepare quietly, strategically, and maybe even confidently.
When DGHS finally publish, you’ll already be miles ahead, while others are still googling “how to apply Medical Admission Bangladesh.” Stay tuned for more admission information.
